Two-stroke motorcycles "Minsk" - Soviet vs. 2012 model

Motorcycles The Minsk brand was highly valued in the USSR. Their main advantages were low cost, simple design and reliability. No one argues that real "rockers" preferred "Java", CZ or Izh. But the "Minsk" was cheap and almost did not need any modifications. And the motorcycle was light, for which it was loved by foresters, mushroom pickers and fishermen. The MMVZ plant produced two-stroke bikes until about 2014. Then, more modern models with Chinese pedigree appeared in the range of the manufacturer, which fell into private hands. But the old "Minsk" were still assembled for several years after that, only with four-stroke engines from the Middle Kingdom.

And today, the author of the Retro Moto 58 channel will compare two Minsk motorcycles. They are structurally similar and both are two-stroke. An excellent opportunity to test the famous Belarusian quality. Is it still in 2012? Although, already in appearance we can say that a newer bike is better. The engine has the top of perfection in the line. Although, a bulkhead on high-quality bearings and seals will not hurt this power unit either. Yes, and a new piston will not be superfluous. Say what you like, but such motorcycles still need to be improved, as, indeed, do Chinese ones.
