Hi-Fly Taxi air taxi tests were carried out on the territory of the Belgorod region

Biryuch Research Center, one of the structural subdivisions of the well-known company EFKO, has tested a new generation unmanned vehicle. The next stage of the project was completed successfully, work to improve performance and improve structural elements will continue.

Air taxi is a promising direction of work, the company's management believes that the future belongs to such technologies and in 10-15 years they will become part of everyday life.

Features

This type of equipment is called a multicopter, as it is driven by a large number of propellers. This model uses 16 electric motors, some of which are directed upwards, and some are directed downwards. This technical solution is designed to improve performance.

The lower position of the propellers gives maneuverability, and the upper position increases stability in flight and landing. The combination of the two options is the innovation center's own development. In addition, it will allow you to land the multicopter even when the 4 motors stop working.

At this stage, the electrical part of the equipment is powered by lithium-ion batteries. Together with Russian scientists, work is underway to find an alternative solution, with priority given to membrane technologies. This will not only increase the efficiency of energy supply, but will also allow aircraft to operate without problems in the conditions of the Far North.

Today, a multicopter is capable of traveling up to 15 km with a load of 120 kg on board. By the end of next year, it is planned to carry out experimental flights along designated routes at a distance of up to 50 km. The relevant regulatory and legal framework is already being prepared and agreed upon.

Air taxi is only one of the areas under development for which the platform will be used. The purposes of use can be different - from the evacuation of victims and the delivery of patients to the search for people and much more.

According to the work schedule, the release of the first copies of unmanned multicopters is scheduled for 2024. By that time, the model should have a power reserve of 600 km and a load capacity of at least 220 kg. In this case, the speed of movement will be up to 300 km / h. Work will also be carried out to create the necessary infrastructure - service centers, sites, control rooms, etc.
Do you think they will start producing multicopters in 2024?
