ZIL MMZ-555 - features of a construction dump truck with a "trough" body

Soviet trucks ZIL-130 were the main by cars at construction sites. It didn't matter whether it was in the city or in the countryside - there was always work for the truck. The most popular and in-demand were construction dump trucks. As a rule, they were equipped with a specific type of body - in the form of a large trough. The shape appeared for a reason - it practically excluded spilling or spilling of construction materials. And it is also convenient to transport concrete in it, not on a global scale, of course. I don't remember anyone having a "mixer", also known as a concrete mixer, come to their dacha or village. Everyone ordered "ZILK" with a trough-shaped body. It did not hold much mortar, but it was enough for the family to pour part of the foundation.

I still remember how in the 1980s I had a chance to ride in the cab of this truck. He asked his father to negotiate with the driver so that he would take the passenger seat. And dad himself was driving ahead in a VAZ-2103, showing the way to the dacha. After all, navigators did not exist then. And working on the ZiL MMZ-555 was profitable. Constantly in the back there was an "extra" solution, which summer residents took with pleasure. Yes, and it turned out to drain the gasoline. The author of the Mood Studio channel will talk about this dump truck from his youth and childhood. Of course, there are inaccuracies in the video, but how much nostalgia is in it!
