This is the first time in the history of Russian engine building. Until now, no one has developed power units with design documentation in the form of three-dimensional models with annotations. The engine has a resource of 6000 flight hours and was created as an analogue of the Ardiden 3G as part of the import substitution program. Work in this direction aims to achieve 100% localization in the production of Ka-62.
According to its characteristics, the VK-1600V is similar to the engine previously supplied by the French company Turbomeca. Thus, the domestic motor is ready to replace these units as their resource is exhausted. Only our engine will be installed on new models.

However, the scope of the domestic helicopter engine is not limited to this. Active work is already underway to upgrade the turboshaft VK-1600V into an aircraft engine. It can be successfully used for light regional aircraft (12-14 tons).
Also, a fleet of heavy drones is considered a promising direction for the use of the VK-1600V - work in this direction has been underway for several years.
