Tu-334 - a promising model from the 90s, which never went into production

The Soviet passenger car is good in every way aircraft Tu-134, but by the end of the 80s it was already clear that it was hopelessly outdated. They decided to prepare a new model to replace it. It was the Tu-334, an aircraft whose development was akin to a feat. It never went into production - two prototypes were assembled. But if you remember that the work was carried out in the era of the "dashing 90s", the appearance of the aircraft seems like a miracle. Tu-334 was developed according to the old Soviet scheme. The only correct one, by the way, which became clear a year ago. The aircraft did not need imported components. Only Ukrainian engines were envisaged, but at that time there was complete mutual understanding and economic relations with this country, beneficial to both parties.

Work on the Tu-334, started in the USSR, for obvious reasons dragged on for a long time. The first prototype appeared in 2003. Then it got certified. As further tests showed, the aircraft was promising, definitely not worse than foreign analogues. That's just the main competitor of the Tu-334 was the Sukhoi Superjet 100. As a result, he went into the series. It is difficult now to say why exactly they refused to release the Tu-334. But we can definitely say that the model turned out to be at the level. And the author of the SkyShips channel will tell you more about the Tu-334.
