Daihatsu Hijet debuted on a new platform

Daihatsu Motor Company recently unveiled its popular commercial vehicle car Hijet. Externally, the minibus has hardly changed, but the DNGA platform has made it safer and more reliable.


Daihatsu Hijet remained in the base rear-wheel drive. The main innovation is the installation of a compact variator and a flat floor of the cargo compartment.
The car in the all-wheel drive version is equipped with a rear differential lock, so the cross-country ability is impressive.

Body Daihatsu Hijet completely redesigned, although outwardly it is invisible. The weight of the carcass has been reduced through the use of new alloys of increased hardness. The rigidity of the body is reinforced, which has a positive effect on the stability of the car's behavior on the road and its handling.



The updated Daihatsu Hijet is no longer that simple car in a “bare” configuration. Now, even in the base, the car will receive a Smart Assist system, which includes functions from lane control to emergency braking.

Hijet Cargo received a huge cargo compartment for its dimensions. Its length is 1 mm, width - 915 and height - 1 mm. The rear seats are easily removed and dismantled.

The minibus is offered in several options:

For lovers of comfort and functionality, a car variant with an extended and elevated cab is offered. This is a Hijet Jumbo - a flatbed truck, more convenient for the driver and passenger.

The engine of all variants of Daihatsu kei cars of this model is only gasoline. The working volume is 660 cm3, it is possible to choose atmospheric or turbocharged. Engine power in different versions has not yet been officially announced.



In the basic configuration, the car is equipped with a five-speed manual gearbox. The variator comes in more expensive versions or at an additional cost.

The cost of the new Daihatsu Hijet in various modifications in terms of Russian rubles will range from 690 to 000 rubles.
