Finally the day came when KAMAZ got the opportunity to prove its cross-country ability. Of course, the classic truck from Tatarstan, it is hard to call it off-road. But that is how it was originally conceived – this is construction equipment, it is for roads, even if not of the best quality. But there is a four-wheel drive KAMAZ, with a 6x6 wheel arrangement. It was developed for the military and passed the crucible of severe tests. It is inappropriate to compare this truck with the GAZ-66 – cars different classes. But since the equipment is Soviet and already budget, they do it periodically.

The main advantage of the all-wheel drive KAMAZ over the Shishiga is the diesel engine. Let its atmospheric version participate in the competition, but still, there is more traction at low revs than the gasoline ZMZ. There is no doubt that if the GAZ-66 had a diesel engine, this off-road truck would definitely win. The car is lighter than the opponent - and this is one of the most important advantages in the mud. Not just because "Shishiga" is called a swamp. Although, in fairness, it should be noted that it is not worth driving a truck on unsteady soils. How many cars have already been lost - do not count.
