Peugeot launches 408X liftback

Peugeot began selling a new model - 408X. This is a cross-country liftback, more like a crossover. So far, the car is offered only in Chinese car dealerships. This means that Russian dealers can bring it to order.


It is noteworthy that the new Peugeot model is somewhat reminiscent of the Lada Vesta Cross station wagon. Although, against the background of the domestic car, the “Frenchman” looks definitely more advantageous. By the way, the price in China is about the same as for LADA Vesta - from 1,6 million rubles.

The new French car was created on a platform unified with the Peugeot 308. It is known under the EMP2 index. But externally, the models have many differences. For example, the front of the liftback looks more aggressive. And in general, the 408X was clearly created with an eye on the youth audience and people leading an active lifestyle.


In the basic configuration, the model is equipped with a 1,2-liter turbocharged gasoline engine. It develops 130 hp. With. For those for whom this is not enough, there are hybrids. Initially, they were not going to install such power units, assuming to get by with just 1,6-liter turbo-petrol engines.

But now there are two hybrids in the Peugeot 408X range. One gives out 150, and the second 180 hp. With. The built-in electric motor allows you to briefly increase the power to 180/225 hp. With. respectively, but only in peak load modes.

Gearboxes are non-alternative - 8-automatic transmission. Hybrids can travel up to 60 km without the use of internal combustion engines.
