8-valve engine with AvtoVAZ for a long time, and there will be no 16-valve engine yet

Based on the latest reports voiced by the head of the Vesta project Oleg Grunenkov, it became known about the timing of the release of new, localized 16-valve motors into a series.


So 1,6 liters. engine VAZ 21129, developing a power of 106 liters. With. can be expected not earlier than in 3-4 months. At the same time, the more powerful 21179, with a volume of 1,8 liters, already delivering 122 liters. With. will be ready, at best, only at the beginning of next year.


On the other hand, the plant is not going to refuse from the 8-valve modification of power units, which, in fact, turned out to be a lifesaver in the face of sanctions costs. Neither now, nor after the establishment of mass production of high-power motors.

The new line of Lada Vesta NG, whose sales start is expected in May, will eventually be available to the consumer in various modifications.
