Interestingly, production has already started. The cars have not changed outwardly, only the word “Iveco” has disappeared from their name. Trucks are already certified. These are machines with a 6x6 wheel arrangement with a carrying capacity of up to 22 tons.
In principle, nothing has changed radically in the work of the AMT plant. They make their own frame, units and components from third-party manufacturers are hung. Only earlier they were brought from EU countries under the Iveco brand. Now all components come from China. By the way, the Celestial Empire supplies its parts to European conveyors.
The main components and assemblies, such as the engine, gearbox and transfer case, are produced at Iveco joint ventures in China. The first trucks have already been assembled and are being offered to customers.
Here's what Russian drivers think:
This is the correct approach and the right scheme. In fact, work continues as usual. Italians are not pedantic Germans; for them, profit comes first. Sanctions? No problem - we will carry from China and remove our nameplates. Who cares what they produce trucks for AMT in Russia?
- Vladislav Igorevich starts the conversation
The scheme is working, I agree, but for how long? As practice has shown, everything in the world depends on politics. They will order them to curtail business relations - it will be so. And AMT will remain with its frames again.

Everything requires foresight and good planning. The fact that they got it working is great. But we should look for some other ways of development - to negotiate with domestic producers. Their components and assemblies will also not interfere.

The laws of economics in a healthy society with its inherent competition. You need to constantly develop. Those who do not do this will inevitably find themselves overboard, sooner or later. A simple example - an engine manufacturer wanted to produce his own trucks. As soon as demand has improved, motors are no longer sold to third-party enterprises. And what should they do? And these will have explosive sales growth.
- the user "Sergeich76" teaches the basics of economic theory
But it seems to me that these are ordinary Chinese components and assemblies that were bungled on the third shift. And Iveco has nothing to do with this. It’s just that these trucks have not been complained about by any of the drivers working for them before. And what will happen now - I can't even imagine.
- ends the conversation with the user "Saruman".
