Michelin found a buyer for the Russian tire plant

The Russian plant Michelin will soon find a new owner. This means that the production of "rubber" will be revived. It's too early to talk about any dates - the sale should be completed.


The Davydovo plant will be bought by Power International Tires. It is engaged in the sale of tires in bulk, and now it is preparing to move to a new stage - setting up its own production.

The deal has already been decided, the package of documents has long been prepared, it remains to discuss a number of nuances and sign the papers. It is reported that this will happen in the next few months.


Recall that Michelin tires have been produced in Russia since 2004. They were actively exported to the EU countries. It was profitable for the manufacturer to make "rubber" with us - the cost of electricity and wages in Russia is much lower than in France, for example.

Back in the summer of 2022, Michelin officially announced that losses due to leaving Russia amounted to more than 200 million euros. Since then, a lot of time has passed, it is safe to say that this amount has doubled at least.

It remains only to guess when and under what brand tires will be produced at the plant after the change of ownership. But the fact that this will happen is clear.
