Bryansk Tractor Plant - how does the enterprise "live" and how does it "breathe"?

One of the “youngest” plants in the Russian Federation began operating in 2018, when brand new tractors left its assembly line. The enterprise did not grow from scratch, but on the basis of the Bryansk Arsenal, founded back in 1783. The product range includes caterpillar and wheeled vehicles designed for agricultural, road, construction and special work.


Initially, BTZ worked in cooperation with the Kharkov plant. However, due to well-known events, cooperation was terminated and today the company is actively looking for new suppliers. And there are some developments in this direction. For example, a plant from St. Petersburg, known for its K-700, undertook to manufacture a transmission for Bryansk tractors. Castings are supplied by China. Previously, there was information that the company was going to cooperate with MTZ, but, as you can see, so far it is coping on its own. What did the Bryansk plant produce and produce?

BTZ-4000 (4230)

This novelty was presented by the enterprise for public viewing in 2022 at the Agrosalon exhibition. The ten-ton tractor is equipped with the Yaroslavl six-cylinder YaMZ-236 engine, which develops 230 “horses”. However, the manufacturer said that in the future the car will be equipped with a more powerful 300 hp engine. With.


The tractor has a hydromechanical transmission manufactured by a plant from St. Petersburg. The box has three front speed ranges and one rear. The axles are reinforced, there is a power take-off shaft and a three-point hitch at the back, lifting tools weighing up to 7,2 tons. Four main hydraulic outlets and one additional one are provided for their connection. The general design of the equipment consists of two articulated semi-frames that can rotate up to 30° horizontally and up to 15° vertically.


The machine is designed for use in agriculture and is aggregated with all common tillage implements. Also, the equipment can be in demand in the construction industry and utilities. The BTZ-4230 tractor is not yet on the pages of the official website, so it is worth considering the models that are already working in the fields of Russia.

BTZ-253K

Here is the same YaMZ-65654 engine, developing 230 hp. With. volume of 11,5 liters. The total number of forward gears - 12, reverse - 4. Switching occurs without breaking the power flow. A two-speed PTO is provided for standard 540 and 1000 rpm. The rear hitch of the tractor, which itself weighs 8,8 tons, is designed for the weight of the lifted implement up to 5 tons. The articulated frame provides a relatively small turning radius of 6,7 m.


The BTZ-254K machine can be considered a continuation of the model. It differs from the previous one in a more powerful YaMZ-53645 engine, producing 250 “horses”. However, the mass of the tractor is slightly less than that of the previous model and is 8,66 tons. But the permissible load of the equipment is the same - 5 tons. The transmissions are the same.

BTZ-246K

This is an older model. The tractor is best suited for soil cultivation in medium-sized farms on areas up to 3 thousand hectares. Wide-cut Russian and foreign guns are aggregated with the machine. The articulated, riveted, hinged frame withstands heavy loads. The tractor is equipped with a YaMZ-65655 engine developing 189 hp. With. The kit includes a twelve-speed gearbox, a PTO is provided for 540 and 1000 rpm.


At its core, the BTZ-246K is a modernization of the BTZ-243K, and that, in turn, is an analogue of the Kharkiv KhTZ-240K. However, the legendary T-150 can be considered a common ancestor of these machines. If you take the Bryansk wheeled tractors and look at them in terms of the localization of the main components and assemblies, you get an interesting picture:

Tires are produced in Volgograd, hydraulic cylinders in Yelets. Even the air conditioner is made in Tolyatti, and the machine operator's seat is made in Pavlovo (where the grooves are made). BTZ-190P

For the first time, this technique was presented at the Agrosalon exhibition, held in 2020. A feature of the novelty of the fifth traction class is an upgraded suspension equipped with rubber-reinforced tracks. The width of each is 65 cm, while the previous model BTZ-181K in a metal “shoe” is 42 cm. As a result, the pressure on the soil decreased from 0,45 kg / sq. cm to 0,27 kg/sq. see This improvement makes it possible to process excessively wet soil. And rubber-reinforced caterpillars allow you to move along highways. The chassis is the same as that of its predecessor - a torsion-balancing type, equipped with 6 rollers.


The role of the power plant is played by the Yaroslavl unit YaMZ-238KM2, which develops 190 “horses” with a torque of 690 N * m. The average fuel consumption is within 175 g / l. With. (the tank holds 430 liters of fuel). Hydromechanical transmission allows you to use nine forward gears and three reverse. The maximum speed of twelve-ton equipment is 16 km / h. a two-speed PTO is provided. The tractor is quite maneuverable: the turning radius is only 2,9 m.


Why is there a "P" in the name? This means that the tractor can be used not only on farmland, but also in industry. The cost of BTZ-190P is 5,5 million rubles. If you buy a car on metal tracks, it will cost half a million cheaper.

For road builders, processing companies and builders, the plant produces specialized machines. Among them are equipment for forestry, builders and even railway workers.

MBU based on BTZ

This is a bar cutter designed for digging trenches at a speed of 150 m/h. At the same time, the machine can also open asphalt, causing the least possible damage to the coating. The machine is designed for drilling wells in the ground from the 1st to 4-1 category and the installation of supports. The equipment is indispensable in the construction of pile foundations for buildings, installation of bridge foundations, power line poles, wells and various types of fences. Some characteristics:

✅ lifting height - up to 7,2 m
✅ the maximum allowable weight of attached equipment is 3 tons
✅ drilling depth with a main tool diameter of 36- and 450 mm - 3 meters or more (at an angle of up to 90 °).

MBU also performs other tasks: for example, it "knows how" to plant bushes with trees, to equip roads. It is also worth noting several models of special equipment made on the basis of manufactured wheeled tractors. The first is a mulcher complex, with the help of which the shredding of shrubs and wood is carried out. Such machines are needed for clearing areas under power lines, near oil and gas pipelines, railways, as well as creating firebreaks.


Two more interesting units - KRT-1 and MMT-2 are designed for the railway. These tractors, equipped with special equipment, can replace ... shunting diesel locomotives at metallurgical, chemical enterprises, ports and mining and processing plants.


As for the plant itself, given its small age, one can only hope that it will not repeat the mistakes of its eminent "giant colleagues" and continue to supply products to the Russian regions.
