The history of mopeds from the Minsk plant MMVZ - they come across very rarely
Soviet motorcycles were offered in one class - road. But they were divided into three categories - light, medium and heavy. The first ones were the cheapest - the rural youth bought them after the season of work on the collective farm. And this is in the role of assistants. Some managed to make money on medium motorcycles - Izh or Java. But "Minsk" or "Voskhod" suited the youth better. Firstly, these models are light, so guys with a slender physique could handle them. Secondly, the gasoline consumption of motorcycles pleased. According to a rural folk legend that appeared in the 60s, the Minskach is able to move around on a glass of fuel all night. Maybe this is true - depending on where you go. The main thing is to get to the village club, and there they will pour gasoline.

In addition to light motorcycles "Minsk", the MMVZ plant produced mopeds. Only in small batches, so few people remember about them. The manufacturer had an interesting model that turned a lot of boys into fans of two-wheeled vehicles. This is a pedal moped "Kokha". Unfortunately, they appeared already in the 90s, so they are little known in Russia. Although, initially it was also sold here - from the Krasny Oktyabr plant. D-8M engines were just being produced there. They were exchanged by barter for running gear of mopeds from Minsk. In general, "Krokha" is a child of cooperation between the two countries. But MMVZ also had other models. You can learn about them thanks to the author of the KrasMoto channel.
