Suzuki releases Jimny SUV with new retro look

Japanese brand Suzuki has announced the release of a special edition of the much-loved Jimny SUV. From now on, “Heritage Special Edition” is added to its name, and it undergoes very noticeable visual changes.


The first thing that catches the eye are the red mudguards, which contrast against the black body protection and 15-inch alloy wheels. There are standard elements at the front, and Suzuki signature embossing behind the rear wheels.


On the body of a limited-edition SUV, horizontal stickers with curves flaunt. There is no room for customization here. The buyer is free to take one of the colors he likes. There are four colors: black "Black Pearl", green "Jungle Green", white "White" and gray "Medium Grey".


In every new Jimny, you can find a badge that indicates that the car belongs to a limited edition. A trifle, but still nice, and emphasizes the status of the owner.

The Japanese plan to release only 300 copies of the Jimny Heritage Special Edition. Each of them has four-wheel drive and a 5-speed manual transmission. We remind you that the original car is equipped with an automatic transmission, which is not always convenient on the road.


The motor, as in the original car, is very mediocre. It develops a power of 102 hp. With. and a torque of 130 N * m. Top speed is limited to 120 km/h. It is logical, because the car is designed for off-road, and not for a high-speed track. She copes with it perfectly, including due to the ground clearance of 210 mm.

The Jimny Heritage Special Edition is based on the GLX trim. An odd choice considering it's not the "richest" version. It has only two airbags, no on-board computer. You can't even adjust the height of the steering column. On the other hand, there is climate control and heated front seats, LED headlights and leather trim.


On board the novelty has a rear camera and a set of systems to assist the driver. For example, automatic braking in emergency situations. Inside, you can find a 7-inch multimedia display with support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

The minimum price for an exclusive Jimny Heritage SUV is 33490 Australian dollars. For painting in one of three additional colors, you will have to pay another $ 695 on top, since initially the cars are only in a white body.
