SDA for electric scooters appeared in Russia

From March 1, 2023, the rules of the road for electric scooters come into force in Russia. Many pedestrians and drivers were waiting for this, since many scooters “cut through” the sidewalks and the roadway too imposingly. What exactly has changed for them?


According to the new traffic rules, you can move around the streets on electric scooters weighing no more than 35 kg. The maximum speed is 25 km/h. You can move both on roads and on sidewalks, as well as on pedestrian and bicycle paths, for example, in the same parks.



Only users over 14 years old can ride an electric scooter on the road on a par with cars. At the same time, the vehicle itself must have serviceable brakes, as well as working red and white headlights. You can’t ride anywhere: it’s allowed to drive only on roads with a speed limit of up to 60 km / h. You can only occupy the extreme right lane.

Before crossing a pedestrian crossing, the electric scooter must dismount. There is no priority over passers-by - they need to give way in all cases prescribed in the traffic rules for cars. In case of violation of any of the points of the rules, the "driver" of the electric scooter faces a fine of 800 rubles. If the scooter is also drunk, the amount of the fine is 1500 rubles.
