BMW XM Concept Unveiled: Powerful Hybrid SUV

The BMW XM concept car was recently shown to the general public. This car managed to combine sportiness, brutality and the latest technology.


Externally, the car looks, to put it mildly, unusual. With traditional BMW crossovers, the car has little in common. Rather, the concept is more like the new Grand Cherokee.

The car is positioned as a sports car, this is indicated by the letter "M" in the title. As a power unit, there is a powerful gasoline V8, working in tandem with an electric motor.

The radiator grille and unexpectedly narrow headlights immediately catch the eye - the design is strange, but it attracts attention. By the way, these are daytime running lights. The headlights themselves are under them, and at first glance they are not visible at all. They are covered with dark glasses.



The narrower side windows make the SUV something like a sports coupe. The manufacturer claims that this is a new generation design, and subsequent models of the brand will be produced in this style.

The concept car received a two-tone body color and an aerodynamic body kit, hinting that the car is capable of accelerating to high speeds.

Inside, the undisguised luxury of a leather interior reigns, diluted with a square design of the front console. The car is focused primarily on the driver, all ergonomics are tailored to him.

But passengers won't feel left out, either in the front or back row.

BMW promises that the pre-production BMW XM will be minimally different from the concept, both externally and in the cabin. At the same time, brand officials left a way for themselves to retreat, bluntly stating that BMW is not gospel. Say, it all depends on the consumer, if they want to return to the traditional design, then this may happen.

The manufacturer is in no hurry to introduce the engine, but the general data are known. It will definitely be a petrol V8 paired with an electric motor. The total power will be about 750 liters. With. The possibility of movement exclusively on electric traction is provided - so it will be possible to drive 45-50 km.

Serial production of the BMW XM is planned to be established in the United States at a plant in Spartanburg, South Carolina. They promise to collect the first batch by the end of 2022. It is North America that has been chosen as the main buyer of the BMW XM SUV.



When the production car will appear in Russia is still unknown, but most likely it will not happen before 2023.
