Ford Ranger - a new generation after 10 years

Ford Ranger has received a new generation 10 years after the release of its predecessor T6 in 2011. The production of the new product will be taken over by conveyors in Thailand and South Africa. The pickups will reach their first customers in early 2023. For 10 years and two major restyling, the Ford Ranger had to endure before getting a new generation. The Australian branch worked on its development, as was the case with the previous generation T6. According to the company's plans, the mid-size pickup truck will be sold in more than 180 countries, that is, almost all over the world with the exception of Russia and some other countries.

Exterior

Ford says the new Ranger will be the most versatile, toughest and smartest ever in the family's history. At first glance, you can see some similarities with the famous F-150, the latest generation of which debuted in the summer of 2020, and with the more recent Ford Maverick. There are also options unique to a pickup truck, such as matrix headlights.

Due to the above adjustments, the pickup truck has become more passable, suitable for transporting oversized cargo. Interior

Inside the new Ford Ranger, you can see a digital instrument panel, an infotainment system with a 10,1 or 12-inch display, depending on the configuration. There is an Internet module and voice control. Some vehicle options can be controlled from a smartphone. Also of interest are features such as a surround view system and new external lighting. For extra money, you can buy factory accessories, which are presented in quantities of more than 600 units and are sharpened for any task.

Engines

The range of engines depends on the country in which the Ford Ranger will be sold. It is known for certain that the old 5-liter V3,2 diesel engine is not available - a 6-liter V3,0 has come in its place. Especially for him, the engine compartment of the pickup truck was enlarged. In addition to this engine, four-cylinder diesel engines with one or two turbines are available. They also have an alternative in the face of a 2,3-liter turbocharged V4 EcoBoost on gasoline. As for the gearbox, there is a choice of 10-speed automatic and 6-speed manual.



The new Ford Ranger can be ordered in one of three trim levels: XLT, Sport and Wildtrak. Prices have not yet been announced, and it is difficult to even imagine them, since a comparison with the previous generation that came out as much as 10 years ago will not be entirely correct.
