Geely sold the first 199 Zeekr 001

Geely's new all-electric brand Zeekr has ramped up deliveries of its recently launched 001 model to customers in China. The first 50 cars were delivered to customers on October 23 at the Zeekr Intelligent Factory in Ningbo, bringing the total number of vehicles delivered for the month to 199. This is a significant figure, and there is every reason to believe that we will soon see a four-digit result or even several thousand Zeekr 001s per month.




The technical characteristics and capabilities of the Zeekr 001 are quite interesting, and in fact the car is a preliminary demonstration of the capabilities of the fundamentally new Geely Sustainable Electric Architecture (SEA) platform. The standard version with a battery capacity of 86 kWh has a range of 526 kilometers. The car is equipped with a 200 kW Nidec Ni200Ex electric motor. With its help, the car accelerates from 0 to 100 km / in just 6,9 seconds. For this version electric car The manufacturer is asking a price of about 44 thousand US dollars.

There is also an all-wheel drive version with two Ni200Ex engines and a 100 kWh battery. The car in this design develops a speed from 0 to 100 km / h in 3,8 seconds. According to the manufacturer, the battery system, operating under a voltage of 800V, allows you to charge the battery from 10% to 80% in just 30 minutes at a power of about 360 kW. The platform itself supports the installation of up to three electric motors. Its unique feature is "open source". Thanks to this, on the basis of SEA, it is possible to build not only Geely cars, but also cars from other brands.



The production of Zeekr 001 has been established at a facility specially built for this purpose. The entire territory of the automobile plant is covered by a 5G network, modern technologies are involved, most routine processes are automated - 300 robots are responsible for this. This is a strong argument for environmentalists, because the plant has practically no effect on nature.

For Geely, the Zeekr all-electric brand could be a big selling point in China, where the company is well behind its more successful EV competitors. Thus, in October, the car manufacturer (including the Lynk & Co brand, but excluding Volvo and Polestar) sold a total of 7 electric vehicles (NEV), including hybrids. This is just 909% of the total EVs in the Chinese market, and the company is determined to change that.
