Work on the electric UAZ "Hunter" was stopped for an indefinite period
The Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant has completely stopped work on the serial electric car of the Hunter model. The press service of the company said that in the context of economic sanctions against the Russian Federation, further development of the program is impossible. Accordingly, there is no talk of any serial model now.

If you deal with the issue, it becomes clear that in our country there were no prospects for the electric UAZ Hunter in any case. Its preliminary cost was declared at the level of 40 euros or 000 million rubles. It is unlikely that anyone agreed to give that kind of money for a structurally obsolete car. Moreover, the gasoline version can be taken two times cheaper - from 2,33 million rubles.

UAZ planned to sell its electric cars to Europe. They signed a contract with a Czech company, which took over the supply of components and assemblies necessary for the production and the sale of finished cars.

Now all contacts with a foreign company have been terminated due to economic sanctions. No concessions should be expected, especially since UAZ supplies its products to the Russian army.

Representatives of Sollers say that the resumption of the program for the serial production of UAZ Hunter electric cars is possible only with state financial support. At the factory, everything is ready for small-scale assembly of the model.

The first batch of electric cars, according to rumors, has already been made. Where did these cars go - UAZ does not report. It is possible that they were bought by MW Motors for later resale. Moreover, this company announced the start of pre-orders for the UAZ Hunter at the beginning of 2021.

Interestingly, the Czechs brought the model to the European market under a different name - MWM Spartan. Apparently, there is a hint at the Spartan level of comfort, or rather, its absence.

The main customer for electric cars from the Czech company was a British mining company.
MWM Spartan differs from the standard UAZ "Hunter" only in the power unit. The chassis and all the technical features of the model are left unchanged.

Representatives of the Sollers group hope for state financial support. The chief designer of the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant claims that in this case, the company will be able to quickly create a line of electric cars on the chassis of the Patriot, Profi and Loaf models.
