Kia partially unveils EV9 electric SUV - premiere at Los Angeles Auto Show

South Korean automaker seriously intends to capture the market electric vehicles. By 2027, the company promises to produce seven models of electric cars. The next version will be shown to the public on November 17 at the AutoMobility LA auto show (Los Angeles), but for now the curtain of secrecy has been lifted - what kind of car will it be? car?

The car, nicknamed the "big brother of EV6", impresses with its scale. Judging by the teaser, it will be a full-size SUV built on the E-GMP platform. It also formed the basis of the expected Hyundai Seven concept, which will also be shown on November 17 in Los Angeles.

The E-GMP platform was developed by Hyundai Motor, and its name stands for Electric Global Modular Platform. A traction battery is built into the power structure, each axle has an electric motor. The advantage of the platform is the ability to change the wheelbase and track, adjust the ground clearance and other parameters.

While exact information is unknown, but the platform will allow you to install a 600-horsepower engine. Presumably, the manufacturer uses two batteries for 100 kilowatt-hours, which will allow you to go 500 kilometers before the next charge.

The expected length of the EV9 SUV is about five meters. Without disclosing details, the company published photos that can be used to draw conclusions about the exterior design features:

✅ The car features dynamic angular shapes
✅ Exposed front arches and a steep front end give an aggressive character
✅ Presumably, the SUV will have a glass roof
✅ Y-shaped lights will be installed at the back

The concern also showed sketches of what the EV9 cabin should be like. With such a significant length inside, passengers can comfortably accommodate three rows at once. Other features of the interior raise questions. The public was shown a rectangular steering wheel, but it is unlikely that this will be the case in a production car.

In the spacious cabin there is a place for a large screen - like the one in the EV6. Overall, the interior looks futuristic, although there are more questions than answers about the car.

Judging by the presented teaser, it is too early to talk about the imminent launch of the production of an electric SUV - it is still “damp”. But today it is being compared with the Ioniq 7, which Hyundai Motor intends to produce from 2024.
