Toyota Corolla 2001-2006
The model in the form of a sedan and a hatchback was produced in the back of the E-120. In the EU countries, it appeared in 2002, equipped with engines (gasoline or diesel) with a capacity of 1,8-2,2 liters. Depending on this characteristic, wheels and tires of a certain size were installed on the car.

The size of the wheels does not depend on the body type - sedan or hatchback.
Toyota Corolla 2007-2012
Here, the model line has decreased, since only sedans remained, and it was decided to separate hatchbacks into a separate Auris series.

In Russia, this model has been officially sold since 2007.
Toyota Corolla 2013-2018
This is the eleventh version of the Toyota Corolla, where there are no special changes in relation to the wheels, except for the diameter of the hub, increased to 60,1 mm, excluding cars with a 1,8I engine, where this parameter is the same - 54,1 mm.

Tire and rim sizes are related to the engine:
✅ 1.33 VVT-I - main 195 / 65R15 (6J) or 205 / 55R16 (6,5J) 215 / 45R17 (7J) is allowed
✅ 1.6, 1.8, 2.0 VVT-I, 1.4D-4D - base 205 / 55R16 (6,5J), replacement - 215 / 65R16 (7J)
✅ 1.8I - three main options - 195 / 65R15 (6J), 205 / 55R16 (6,5J), 215 / 45R17 (7J)
In the basic version, stamped steel wheels are installed on the car. Light alloy available as an option.
Toyota Corolla from 2019 to the present day
This version of the car was first shown to the public in 2018 in New York. The manufacturer has provided only a couple of options for the power unit, according to which the car is equipped with tires:
✅ 1.8I - the main option, without replacement - 195 / 65R15 (6J), 205 / 55R16 (6,5J), 215 / 45R17 (7J)
✅ 2.0I - base size 205/55R16 (7J) or 225/40R18 (8J), possible option - 195/65R15 (6,5J)
It was decided to make the hub diameter, as in the models of 2001-2006 of release - 54,1 mm. It remains only to choose tires for the summer from a suitable manufacturer and at an affordable cost.

Below are the possible options for popular tires in descending order of cost (for ease of comparison, the price of 15-inch slopes is indicated).
Michelin Primacy 3
Tires with a directional tread pattern from a French manufacturer, in which he managed to increase the contact patch thanks to the use of a specially developed compound. Rubber provides quick acceleration and a short braking distance. Five stiffeners are "responsible" for directional stability on any, including wet road.
Michelin tires are easily identified by the logo. The average price of Primacy 4 185/65 R15 88H: 9164 rubles. Photo: YouTube.com
The model is distinguished by a developed drainage system of transverse and longitudinal grooves, as well as low heating during long driving, for example, on suburban highways.
Yokohama Bluearth-Es ES32
A tire with a symmetrical tread pattern based on the sipe pattern to reduce noise levels. It was possible to increase the wear resistance of the product due to the use of small blocks. To prevent hydroplaning, three large drainage channels and many smaller ones are provided. The tread pattern is developed using Zeruma technology, which provides stability and ease of control of the car during sharp maneuvering on wet pavement.

Orange oil is included in the rubber compound of the tire, due to which rolling resistance is reduced, and, consequently, fuel consumption. Hence the name of the model - Bluearth-Es.
Matador MP-47 Hectorra 3
The brand belongs to the German concern Continental, however, the "homeland" of the product can be Romania, France, the Czech Republic and other EU countries, as well as the Russian Federation, where the company's branches from Germany are located. This is a budget tire of an asymmetric type with different shoulder areas. Some are "responsible" for the stability of the car when performing maneuvers, others provide a confident rectilinear movement.

The tread pattern consists of massive blocks that improve the grip of the tire and reduce the braking distance of the car. To prevent aquaplaning, moisture is removed by longitudinal channels and a network of lamellas - narrow grooves.
Viatti Strada Asymmetric V-130
About this model, we can say that an acceptable price and quality coexist here. The asymmetric tire has three large and one small longitudinal groove, confidently coping with the removal of moisture. Cross sipes provide reliable grip on wet or dry road surfaces. Shoulder zones hold the car in case of sharp maneuvering at speed.

A feature of the tire model is low noise, which is important when traveling long distances.
tire pressure in summer
The main rule here is to follow the manufacturer's recommendations. The required values can be found on a plate affixed to the driver's door pillar or read on the inside of the fuel filler flap. Incorrect pressure leads to undesirable consequences:
✅ if it is increased, accelerated wear of the central part of the tread is guaranteed
✅ a tire that is not inflated to the norm will also quickly reduce its resource, increase the consumption of humpback and worsen the car's handling
In both cases, the load on the undercarriage changes, which leads to premature wear of individual parts and assemblies. Experienced car owners check the pressure at least every 2 weeks. This can be done using a separate pressure gauge or by reading information from the dashboard (for machines with improved equipment).

In the first case, you can use a special device. Affordable and the most common is a mechanical pressure gauge, which is based on a coil spring. This is a reliable device, the only drawback of which is small inaccuracies in the measurement. A variant of the device that gives accurate readings with an error of 0,05 atmospheres is an electronic device. Do not forget: a change in pressure in one direction or another by 0,1-0,5 atmospheres cannot be seen with the naked eye, which is based on a coil spring.
