Lexus ES and RX are the most theft-proof cars

Experts from the All-Russian Union of Insurers conducted an objective and independent study cars, in which 18 models that are particularly popular in the Russian Federation took part. The selection criteria for the participants in the theft protection test included not only the number of sales from official dealers, but also theft and insurance statistics.


The study was carried out in 4 successive stages. Experts assessed the extent to which cars are protected from unauthorized entry into the cabin by an intruder, checked what efforts a criminal needs to make to start the engine, change the number and make a copy of the original key. A big plus, according to experts, was the presence of a monitoring unit in the car, to which you can connect the engine blocking system in an emergency.



According to the test results, the first place was taken by the premium Japanese-made sedan Lexus ES. On account of the model 809 points on a 1000-point scale. Lexus is also in second place, but already the RX model is a premium crossover with a recommended cost of 5,3 million rubles. He scored 761 points, and the most interesting thing is that the much more popular and affordable Skoda Octavia is only one point behind him - 760 points, respectively. The crossover from Audi closes the top three - the Q5 model, in the latest generation sold at a price of 4,59 million, collected 746 points.

Places of strong middle peasants, who scored in the range of points from 700 to 500, were taken by such popular cars as Land Cruiser Prado and Corolla from Toyota, Kia Sportage, 3-series and X5 models from the Bavarian concern BMW, as well as Mercedes-Benz C- Class from the same country.

The Sandero and Logan models did not perform well in testing, both scoring an equal number of points, namely 246 points. Domestic cars Vesta and Granta from the LADA brand received 253 and 293 rating points, respectively. Finally, the Nissan Qashqai looks best of all outsiders, which managed to show a result of 393 points out of 1000.
