The traffic police will no longer fine for minor violations

In connection with recent events, service workers in uniform and with a baton will win a little more respect.

The fact is that the first deputy. Head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia has prepared a special document, which has already been sent to the regional offices of the service. In it, A. Gorovoy ordered his local subordinates to show more loyalty and leniency towards those who committed minor violations.

Who can certainly count on the "easing of the regime"

Of course, first of all, this relaxation applies to the category of cargo cars, delivering consumer goods and some other groups. This refers to measures aimed at avoiding shortages of certain types of goods in the regions. The decision to ease the penalties was due to the difficult economic situation, which is a consequence of the sanctions restrictions in effect in our country.

The leadership of the traffic police encouraged subordinates not to fine those who committed violations that did not lead to the creation of an emergency, or committed them in case of emergency. An alternative to punitive measures is the possibility of issuing an oral warning. It will be applied to all carriers of agricultural products, industrial goods and everything that "contributes to the sustainable development of the state's economy." There is a list of such violations:

✅ inconsistency of exhaust gases with CO2 level
✅ Faulty horn or rear view mirror
✅ broken headlight or dimensions
✅ winter tires wear more than normal
✅ increased engine noise

Drivers of passenger cars also received certain bonuses Transport. If a car has no mudguards, a faulty parking brake or tires with different tread patterns, owners will no longer be issued fines. On the contrary, inspectors have been encouraged to continue to strictly punish those who are malicious violators of the rules, drive drunk or are in no hurry to pay a previously issued fine.

It would seem a positive decision, but it immediately aroused justified criticism. The guide uses a general wording that allows for noticeable discrepancies in the question of what is considered to be cargo subject to the amnesty and what is not. Also, they again remembered the proposal of 2 years ago about the principle of “no more than three”.

In it, the traffic police proposed not to fine drivers for whom no more than three minor violations were recorded per year, to limit themselves to a warning. So far, this initiative has not met with support from the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
