Opel presented Rocks-e Cargo for delivery services

The German car manufacturer has unexpectedly offered buyers a modest-sized truck.electric car, made on the basis of the compact Rocks-e model. The passenger seat in the new car (or ATV - this is how the vehicle is certified) is missing, and the driver's seat is separated from the luggage compartment by a special wall.


Despite its small size, the car has a fairly large cargo compartment, reaching 400 liters. It’s hard to believe this figure, especially when you look at the vehicle and know its dimensions and abilities:

• ? length, width, height - 241, 139 and 152 cm
  
• ? load capacity - up to 140 kg (length of transported items - up to 1,2 m)
  
• ? turning radius - 7,2 m

The latter characteristics allow the car to maneuver in narrow city yards and lanes. A vehicle can be safely called the most successful way to deliver goods to addresses or make urgent repairs. The driver has access to the cargo stowed in a separate compartment directly from his seat: it is enough to tilt the top cover over the “trunk” to the window. It itself can serve as an additional place to place goods weighing up to 40 kg or be used as a table with an organizer. The machine is unloaded through the rear or front passenger door.



As for the technical parameters of the Rocks-e Cargo, they are relatively modest, but for cars of this class, more is not required:

• ? cruising range - 75 km (according to the WLTP calculation method)
  
• ? time to fully charge the battery from a conventional 220 V network - 3,5 hours

The standard version includes LED optics. As an option, a panoramic roof is offered, which is somehow unusual for a car of this kind. In the cabin of the "baby" there are many different accessories for luggage and its fixation. These are all kinds of straps, pockets, nets, etc.



First of all, the new product will appear on the car markets of Germany and Holland. The cost of the mini lorry Rocks-e Cargo has not been announced yet. Something similar is produced by the French company Citroen, which, like Opel, is part of the Stellantis auto concern. The Ami Cargo model is equipped with the same 8 hp engine, has a two-level floor and has a similar load capacity of 140 kg. The price of this car is 6490 euros. It is logical to assume that Rocks-e Cargo will be priced at about the same amount.
