Non-environmentally friendly KAMAZ trucks will again be sold in Russia

KAMAZ is forced to switch to production trucks low (by environmental standards) Euro 2 class. The management of the concern took this step due to a shortage of components and in order not to stop production.

From April this year, the company will offer customers cars that cannot be registered in Russia due to too “dirty” emissions into the environment, which is contrary to the accepted standards of the technical regulations of the Customs Union (CU). To resolve the problem, Rosstandart, together with the Ministry of Trade, applied to a special commission of the EurAsEC to suspend the existing standards.

The decision will be made this week. The Program for the dissemination of environmentally friendly Transport (according to it, all cars must meet standards of at least Euro 5) is put on pause.

It is worth noting that before the well-known political events, KAMAZ produced and sold trucks in small batches that met only Euro 2 standards. The products were exported to some African countries and Latin American countries. If the plant's total output last year was 44 vehicles, then the number of vehicles manufactured according to the Euro 136 standard ranged from 2 to 1 thousand units. Of course, such cars the path to the European Union is blocked.

According to Euro 2 standards, the content of oxides is allowed in an amount of up to 1,5 g / kWh, and hydrocarbons - 0,46 g / kWh. For Euro 2 it will be 4,0 g/kWh and 1,1 g/kWh respectively.

Since April, non-environmentally friendly trucks will also be delivered to Russian dealers. These are on-board vehicles and tractors with a K3 class cab equipped with 8-cylinder diesel power units manufactured in the Russian Federation.

Motor power - 240-360 "horses". It is not yet clear how long such trucks will be sold in Russia. However, the press service of the company said that the measure is temporary and will be applied until the Altai Plant (AZPI) organizes the production of fuel equipment similar to Bosch, which the German concern refused to supply to Naberezhnye Chelny.

According to the representative of the plant, this will happen in May this year. Now cars of the K5 series that meet Euro 5 standards are produced exclusively at the expense of warehouse reserves.

At a meeting held earlier with Russian President Vladimir Putin, the leader of Tatarstan, Minnikhanov, warned of a threat hanging over KAMAZ of a drop in production of up to 40%. This is fraught with sending 15 employees on forced leave.
