AvtoVAZ next week will assemble only Lada Niva Legend

Officials from AvtoVAZ said that next week cars will start rolling off the assembly line again. Only this will be the only model, the Lada Niva Legend – the simplest car of all that remain in the manufacturer’s lineup. The stock of parts and electrical microcircuits will not last for a whole week, but AvtoVAZ has guaranteed it in 4 days, and the governor of the Samara region announced this information.


After production stops again, most of the company's employees will go on regular leave. AvtoVAZ decided to help employees in this way, so as not to send them on vacation at their own expense.

The holiday will last from 4 to 24 April. During this time, AvtoVAZ logisticians will try to arrange deliveries and accumulate a sufficient supply of parts and electronic components for further uninterrupted work.



Whether the manufacturer's forecasts for the near future will come true is still unclear. Employees of the enterprise are worried that their vacation will be delayed - after all, Renault officially announced yesterday that it was leaving the Russian market. And she is the holder of a controlling stake in AvtoVAZ (67,6%).

To date, all production sites belonging to the legendary AvtoVAZ are idle without work, not only in Tolyatti, but also in Izhevsk. The main reason for the economic collapse is the termination of cooperation with Bosch, which diligently fulfills the requirements for sanctions imposed on the Russian Federation.



Lada Niva Legend is the most advanced car that has not changed its design globally since 1977. The SUV has a minimal amount of modern electronics, but due to numerous upgrades it can no longer be produced without a number of components.



AvtoVAZ is now refining its crossover, depriving it of options. In principle, it is possible to make a global “rollback” and release the Lada Niva Legend without the use of foreign electronics at all - as was done in the Soviet Union.

Evil tongues are already saying that AvtoVAZ will have to revive all of its classic cars, from 2104 to 21099. But this is unlikely to happen - Chinese partners are able to provide the Russian manufacturer with electronics. It remains only to conclude appropriate contracts with them.
