New generation Ford Ranger coming soon, but in Australia

Ford Australia is gearing up to unveil a new generation of the Ford Ranger mid-size pickup truck. According to preliminary information, the debut should take place on November 24, 2021.


Many people wonder why the new Ranger will appear not in the USA, but on a distant continent where there are a lot of kangaroos and rabbits? The answer is simple - Ford does not want to compete with expensive pickups, provoking a stir around the new model!

Ford of Australia has already teased pickup fans with a teaser of a camouflaged Ranger with an updated body. But no specific dates for the appearance of the model before the public were called. Recently, a video was released where the presentation date was announced - November 24, 2021, and the pickup was shown in more detail.

The new generation will have a lot in common with the Ford F-150, Maverick and Bronco. Judging by the manufacturers' statements, the Ranger will no longer be a model for foreign countries. Development was carried out in accordance with the requirements of automotive legislation in the United States, so as not to make separate modifications for the domestic market.

It should be recalled that the third generation of Ford Ranger was developed with an eye on other countries. For this reason, the pickups were equipped with light-duty components that are not typical for American trucks engines with small volumes, and diesel options were prevalent.



Why can we assume that the next generation Ranger after the debut in Australia will appear in the US? Because in the teaser Ford of Australia emphasizes that the light truck is planned to be delivered to more than 180 countries of the world.

At least one new generation pickup truck with left-hand drive can be seen in the video. Why make such a modification for a presentation in Australia, where cars right hand drive?

It is already clear that the new generation Ford Ranger will remain the same "rogue" as before. As for the design, the light truck will look more modern and stylish.

The salon was not shown, but, apparently, it will become less spartan, the level of comfort will increase. This is due to the unification of Ford SUVs and their release on the same platforms for many models.
