Okskaya Sudoverf Completes Construction of Dry Cargo Ship Leonid Bagrov
The Okskaya Sudoverf shipyard has successfully completed the construction of a new dry cargo mixed-sea vessel named Leonid Bagrov, developed according to the RSD71 project.
On April 14, 2025, representatives of the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping ceremoniously presented the company with official documents confirming the inclusion of the ship in the register.
"Leonid Bagrov" is a modern universal dry cargo ship of the new generation, which has become a logical continuation of the development of the RSD59 series. However, the RSD71 project offers fundamentally new possibilities.

Thanks to the redesigned design, the vessel received a more spacious hold, the length of which was increased by 6 meters, while the overall length of the hull remained compact.
This solution allows entry into ports that are inaccessible to longer vessels, while maintaining high load-carrying capacity and maneuverability.
The project was developed by the Marine Engineering Bureau, and the design documentation was prepared by specialists from R-Fleet. Design.
The design of the Leonid Bagrov allows for a wide range of cargo to be transported: from bulk cargo (grain, coal, crushed stone) to general and hazardous cargo, meeting all the requirements of the IMO international shipping codes.
The dimensions of the dry cargo ship are as follows: length 119,96 meters, hull width 16,98 meters, side height 6 meters. Sea draft reaches 4,90 meters, and river draft 3,60 meters.
With these parameters, the vessel is capable of transporting up to 7173 tons of cargo in sea mode and up to 4395 tons in river mode.
The single hold with a capacity of 9063 cubic meters is designed for loading large-tonnage consignments, ensuring distribution of cargo and reducing downtime during loading and unloading operations.
The vessel has accommodation for 11 crew members, plus 14 additional berths, including one for a pilot.

The autonomous navigation period reaches 20 days, which allows for long passages without calling at ports. The vessel is capable of developing a speed of up to 11 knots, while remaining economical and resistant to various operating conditions.
Special attention was paid to environmental standards during construction. The installed engines and auxiliary systems comply with Tier III NOx emission standards, making the vessel more environmentally friendly.
Modern automation and navigation solutions have also been implemented, increasing the reliability of the vessel and reducing the workload on the crew.
The vessel is named after Leonid Bagrov, and the name itself will become part of the shipping history of the new generation, as will the lead ship of the series, named Konstruktor Egorov.
