Honda ATC – an all-terrain tricycle unknown in Russia

Honda's management has always had a penchant for adventure. So in the second half of the 1960s, they decided to give the market something new - a three-wheeler motorcycle increased cross-country ability. The main task of this equipment is to drive everywhere and all year round. This is how Honda ATC appeared. What is noteworthy is that the model was developed for the US market, and for very specific buyers - farmers. It is not entirely clear how the Japanese imagined this industry, but they believed that local agricultural workers would drive Honda ATCs everywhere. Only they did not like the 70 cm3 engines from a moped. The situation was not saved by the new product - with a 90 cm3 engine.

But the Honda ATC was a hit with young people. Especially those who spent a lot of time on the beaches. The compact three-wheeler cross-country vehicle was suitable for trips on roads and directions. And then more powerful modifications appeared - with power units of 110 and 180 cm3. American farmers finally became interested in the latter. The new equipment began to rapidly conquer the US market. Other Japanese brands tried to compete, but it did not work out. Honda lawyers managed to patent the design.
