SJ-100 testing accelerated – assembly line modernized
Aircraft manufacturing company Yakovlev has entered an active phase of accelerated testing Aircraft SJ-100. To optimize production, the assembly line in Komsomolsk-on-Amur is undergoing modernization and reconfiguration.
In addition, the curator of the Superjet program, represented by the Deputy General Director of Yakovlev, shared fresh details about the progress of the airliner's certification tests. Testing work is being carried out at the above-mentioned enterprise, as well as in the city of Zhukovsky.
The aircraft with the number "97003" is considered the closest to full import substitution. The aircraft has "reached" the final stage of production. In the coming days, the airliner will be lifted into the sky, as recently happened with "97012". "Catching up" with them is the SJ-100, on the fuselage of which the index "95157" is.

Until recently, the latter was the so-called "classic" modification of the SSJ100 with an imported power plant. Now the aircraft has been re-engined for the domestic PD-8 engine.
Deputy General Director of Yakovlev spoke in more detail about these liners:
The SJ-100 engine certification testing program includes testing of the new power plant, as well as an assessment of its integration into the aircraft systems. Tests are conducted both in normal engine operation mode and when simulating various engine failure scenarios. The test list includes 50 flights and requires no less ground checks.

To re-engine the SJ-100, the airframe design was changed only slightly compared to the original SSJ100 version. However, new wingtips, developed jointly with the Central Aerohydrodynamic Institute (TsAGI), were installed for the Russian PD-8 engine. The new cyberlets improve fuel efficiency, takeoff and landing, and acoustic characteristics of the engine.
In parallel with preparations for certification tests, work is underway in the workshops of PJSC Yakovlev with subsequent examples of import-substituted aircraft. The company has begun installing the interior trim of the passenger cabin.
Visually, the interior design is similar to the "classic" SSJ-100. The main difference lies in the country of manufacture. Previously, these elements were manufactured by the American company Bayer Space, but now it is completely localized in Russia.

Aircraft "97003" will begin flying under the certification test program specifically for the installation of a Russian engine in a standard design. In addition, we have a good opportunity to significantly reduce the program's execution time by introducing a total of three prototype aircraft. By the end of this year, we will complete all tests and receive approval. The latter, in turn, opens the door to serial deliveries for our customers.
