Lada Iskra will be the first AVTOVAZ model with the iTPMS system
AVTOVAZ is preparing to launch serial production of the new Lada Iskra model. It will not only expand the brand's model range, occupying a niche between Granta and Vesta, but for the first time in the company's history it will receive the iTPMS system - intelligent tire pressure monitoring.
This function was previously absent from all cars of the brand, including the top-end Lada Vesta trim levels, which makes Iskra a technological pioneer in the affordable model segment.
The integration of iTPMS is carried out within the framework of the electronic stabilization system ESC, which was developed by the Russian company Itelma.
The new ESC modification is supplemented by an indirect pressure control function, which is based on a comparative analysis of the rotation speed of each wheel.

When the pressure in one of the tires drops, the frequency changes, and the system, recording this deviation, notifies the driver.
Unlike traditional dTPMS, a system with direct pressure sensors installed in each wheel, iTPMS does not require additional sensors.
This simplifies the design, reduces the cost price and increases resistance to damage. At the same time, the accuracy of the system depends on a number of factors.
For example, if the tread is heavily worn or after a wheel change, a manual reset and recalibration is required, which is performed by pressing a button in the cabin.

Presented at a recent exhibition in Sochi, the Lada Iskra was shown in three colors of the Russian tricolor – white, blue and red.
This gesture emphasizes not only the patriotic message of the model, but also the strategic importance of the car as a new development of AVTOVAZ, localized and adapted for the domestic market.
Serial production of the Lada Iskra is scheduled for April 19, 2025. The model will become a key element in updating the lineup aimed at the mass segment.

In addition to iTPMS, the car will receive a modern design, an improved platform and a whole range of technologies previously unavailable for AVTOVAZ vehicles.
The fact that even a simplified version of the tire pressure monitoring system has been implemented indicates the company’s growing attention to issues of safety, digitalization, and compliance with global standards.
This is especially important in the context of decreasing access to Western technologies and the need to develop our own engineering solutions.
