UAZ showed the "appearance" of the newest "Patriot"

The official representative of the domestic automaker shared fresh details about the degree of readiness of the updated "Patriot". The new product was shown in pre-production version.


The demonstration was not only carried out in a static position. The car was driven on public roads and a test track. In the latter case, a regular test driver was at the wheel. The employee assessed the driving qualities of the specimen, as well as the operation of the new engine and gearbox.

In the presented the car Under the hood is the latest diesel engine. The volume of the turbocharged unit is 2 liters. The power of the power plant reaches 136 hp with a peak torque of 320 Nm.


The engine is manufactured at the Sollers plant in Yelabuga. The Zavolzhye division, in turn, is engaged in the production of a new six-speed gearbox for the Patriot and other updated UAZ models.

The project's lead design engineer listed the benefits of the improved transmission:


After completing the pre-production model tests, UAZ will begin full-scale mass production. The updated Patriot will be manufactured at the plant in Ulyanovsk.

The representative office of the Russian auto company names the end of autumn as the approximate date. Next year, the lineup is planned to be expanded by introducing an automatic transmission.


No major changes are expected in the exterior design. The pre-production model largely repeats the previous appearance of the Patriot. The differences include the appearance of LED optics.

On the other hand, buyers are promised improved build quality. The plant has modernized its stamping equipment and paint shop. The latter now actively uses electrostatic methods, which should have a positive effect on the durability and longevity of the coating.

The interior is also not expected to see any major changes. The “compact” list of changes includes a new multifunctional steering wheel and an improved infotainment system with a touchscreen.
