Electric trains have caught up with petrol trains in terms of refueling time – two production models have been released

China's largest automaker BYD has unveiled a new platform for electric vehicles and two models on it. The brand has already started accepting pre-orders.

The architecture is called Super e-Platform and its key feature is a 1000-volt system and support for fast charging of the 10C standard. According to the manufacturer, in 5 minutes you can replenish the power reserve up to 400 km, which is comparable to refueling a gasoline car.

The debut pair were the Han and Tang models, both with L EV indexes. The first of them is a luxury sedan. The new model corresponds to the brand's design code, but stands out with chrome stripes with the "Han" hieroglyph.

In the side profile, the exterior looks sporty due to the sloping roofline and "waist". The dimensions of the electric car are as follows:

✅ length - 5 m
✅ width - 1,9 m
✅ height - 1,5 m
✅ wheelbase - 3 m

The interior of the car is made in a contrasting two-tone color scheme. The key element of the interior, as in most Chinese cars, is a touch screen with a diagonal of 15,6 inches.

The basic configuration of the Han L EV is equipped with a 670-horsepower electric motor. A more advanced configuration boasts all-wheel drive and a power of 1086 hp. Acceleration to the first "hundred" for this version takes 2,7 seconds, and to the second - 4,7 seconds.

The maximum speed of the electric sedan is limited to 305 km/h. The battery capacity is 83 kWh, which allows for a 600-700 km drive without recharging according to the CLTC cycle. The cost of the model is in the range of 37 to 48 thousand dollars (3 and 4 million rubles).

BYD Tang L EV, in turn, is an SUV with a three-row layout according to the “2+3+2” scheme. The front part of the body received a narrow line of daytime running lights and matrix head optics integrated into the bumper.

The dimensions of the Tang model are as follows:

✅ length - 5 m
✅ width - 2 m
✅ height - 1,8 m
✅ wheelbase - 3 m

The SUV's interior largely resembles its "brother", but differs in color schemes. The interior is dominated by orange-colored inserts and matte-gray decorative elements.

The multimedia system received a display of a similar diagonal. At the same time, support for the proprietary augmented reality technology AR-HUD is declared.

Technically, Tang is similar to Han in many ways. The exception is the battery capacity. The SUV has a 100 kWh lithium-iron-phosphate battery.

Depending on the configuration, this electric car can travel 560, 600 and 670 km according to the CLTC cycle. Acceleration to 100 km/h takes 3,6 seconds, and the maximum speed reaches 287 km/h. The price tag for the Tang L EV starts at $38 (3,1 million rubles).
