A historic moment – the first import-substituting MS-21 is assembled

The Irkutsk Aviation Plant has completed the assembly of the first fully import-substituting passenger airliner, the MS-21. The aircraft received a PD-14 power plant.

In parallel with this, the pace of localization of another promising project called "Sukhoi Superjet" became known. For SJ-100, more than 20% of the program of certification tests in the air has already been completed.

The MS-21 airliner, in turn, is not only fully assembled, but is already actively preparing for flight tests with new components after ground tests are completed. According to preliminary estimates, the machine will be lifted into the air by the end of spring or early summer.

Full-scale serial production is planned for 2026. The CEO of the United Aircraft Corporation commented on this event:

We continue to work on import substitution in the civil aviation segment. Our industry successfully copes with the tasks of replacing imported systems and units with fully Russian ones. Now UAC is completing a whole line of domestic airliners. Work of such a scale has not been carried out since the times of the Soviet Union.

In addition, information has emerged about another project. Aircraft The Il-114 in the modification with the index "300" has entered the advanced stage of flight tests. The fifth part of the program has been completed.

Another prototype has joined the testing, which will significantly speed up the process. The first deliveries of the liner are expected in October of this year.
