
DST-Ural brought out the new FT-7 tractor from the workshop for the first time
The Chelyabinsk plant "DST-Ural" has for the first time brought out a tracked vehicle for testing in real conditions tractor FT-7.
The equipment was created for a wide range of agricultural work, including sowing industrial and grain crops, plowing and cultivating the soil, harvesting forage, harvesting and transporting crops. All this is possible due to compatibility with various mounted equipment.
The model received an in-line six-cylinder diesel engine YaMZ-652, produced at the Yaroslavl Motor Plant.
The engine develops 412 hp and is equipped with a liquid cooling system, which allows the machine to be used in any climatic conditions.
One of the main features of the FT-7 tractor is the electronically controlled hydrostatic transmission. It makes the change of speed and traction smooth, reduces fuel consumption, increases the reliability of the units and increases the service life of the machine.

For operator convenience, the FT-7 offers a modern control system. It allows all basic operations to be performed using the steering wheel.
This solution makes tractor control more intuitive and reduces the load on the mechanisms – there is no need to remember and pull numerous levers.
The DST-Ural company is actively developing the agricultural machinery sector. In 2023, the plant presented the first prototype of the FT-80 crawler tractor, and has now begun testing the FT-7.
Unlike wheeled equipment, the production of which is established at several Russian enterprises, the market for tracked agricultural machinery in the country is not yet developed.
The launch of the FT-7 into serial production could be an important step in import substitution and competition with Chinese analogues.
The DST-Ural plant has already established itself as a manufacturer of tracked vehicles for the construction and mining industries.

The product line includes bulldozers, pipe layers, telescopic loaders and excavators. Expanding the range with agricultural machinery will allow the company to strengthen its position in the market and offer farmers Russian machines adapted to local conditions.
Testing of the new tractor will continue in the coming months. If the FT-7 confirms its declared characteristics, the plant will begin its serial production.
