ZIS-5 - the ancestor of the legendary brand of trucks

The iconic song, which appeared in 1955, sang about the "green three-ton". Those who are well acquainted with the history of the domestic automotive industry will immediately answer that we are talking about the ZIS-5. By the way, it was in the year when the song appeared that the release of the last modification of this model was discontinued. So the mention of the ZIS-5 can be fully considered a tribute to the tireless worker who is retiring.

It is a truck, which was second in mass production only to its "younger sister" - the "one and a half", played a huge role in the Soviet national economy both before and after the war. More than half a million trucks were manufactured at the main plant alone. cars, and this does not include modifications produced by branches. Already in 1956, a modernized version appeared - UralZIS-355, and two years later the letter "M" was added to the name.
