However, there are many of them - monsters that easily jump over meter-wide ditches with slurry, crush windfalls, rocky placers, quicksand under their wheels. The plant is equipped with the best tools and machines, uses the latest achievements of the mechanical engineering industry. For example, laser is used for cutting metal, body panels are joined by automatic gas welding.
Plasma, waterjet and electrical discharge machines reduce material losses. They also allow achieving perfection in each technological operation: manufacturing, assembly, fitting of auto components, finishing work.

The dimensions of the machine with a wheelbase of 2100 mm and a dry weight of 1620 kg are compact:

The Typhoon's hull made of aluminum alloy AMG-5M is a sealed boat combined with a spatial frame. The latter is built from a combination of pipes and sheet Swedish steel DOCOL. The model takes on board 700 kg of luggage without reducing cross-country ability. If water crossings are not planned, 1,2 tons of equipment can be loaded.

The car has two 100-liter diesel fuel tanks. With an average fuel consumption of 3-6 l/100 km (depending on the complexity of the terrain), you can stay away from civilization for a long time.
There are no side doors. There are three ways to get into the cabin: through the roof hatch (also an emergency exit), the folding rear door, and from the front. The front entrance is cleverly arranged: the windshield with a wiper and washer rises up, the doors swing open, and welcome inside.
Despite its frightening appearance, the TAIFUN's interior is unexpectedly cozy and comfortable. You can travel with a group of 6 people. There are, however, 4 sleeping places. For two, the driver and front passenger, seat belts are provided.
Lighting is implemented by LED strips running along the sides of the ceiling. The instrument panel and multimedia based on Android are located above the windshield. These circumstances, plus an autonomous heater, a rear-view camera and high-quality finishing materials bring the Typhoon to the top league of all-terrain vehicles.
The vehicle is constructed from simple, universal components, which are a piece of cake to replace in case of breakdown. Except, of course, for the tubeless, two-layer, ultra-low pressure tires. Assembled TROM-16 wheels measuring 1650x570 on 25-inch steel disks cost about 100 thousand rubles. The price of the all-terrain vehicle, by the way, starts at 6,7 million. Pumping up the rollers with engine exhaust takes 25 seconds.

The power plant uses a 44-horsepower turbodiesel Kubota V1505-T. The unit is located longitudinally. The gearbox is mechanical. TAIFUN abandoned chain transmissions in favor of cardan shafts with a damper clutch and final drives.
The main gear and clutch packs are borrowed from the tracked GAZ-71. Braking and turning are carried out through the hydraulic system. In the event of a hydraulic failure (a line is broken, for example), it is possible to switch to backup mechanical control.

The secret of the car's uncompromising cross-country ability lies in the principle of braking the wheels from one side. On hard ground, the car accelerates to 50 km/h, and on a body of water it goes at a speed of 6 km/h. The snow and swamp vehicle confidently takes climbs with an angle of 35°.
Having completed our review of the basic configuration of the Typhoon, we did not find any way in which our hero is inferior to the Sherpa. And you?..
