Restrictions lifted – PD-14 received a new certificate

Rosaviatsiya has issued an Approval for the modernization of the PD-14 turbofan engine. The permit allows the engine to be used at low ambient temperatures. Previously, it was under an operational restriction for operation in the range below -10°C.


The received approval is a marker of compliance with the Certification requirements. The reliability of PD-14 is confirmed even in case of icing. According to the conclusion of the Federal Agency, the unit follows the "letter" of the Aviation Rules regulations under Part 33.

The received document opens up new operational capabilities of the PD-14. The next stage on the way to serial production will be conducting additional tests in the air.


Let us recall that PD-14 is the first turbofan engine of the new generation. The unit is produced from Russian components in cooperation with the largest Russian enterprises:

The main operator of the power plant will be a localized modification of the MS-21-310 airliner. According to preliminary data, test flights Aircraft with a Russian engine will be completed this year, and its serial production is planned for next year.
