It has become known what resource AVTOVAZ puts into new engines – drivers’ opinions

AVTOVAZ is creating a new line of internal combustion engines. The company's management and its engineers decided to tell what resource they are putting into these power units.

As it turned out, the figures are known even at the design stage. The minimum bar is 220 thousand kilometers. That is how much any of the new VAZ engines should travel. Naturally, subject to maintenance intervals.

It is quite possible that the engine life will be long. But this already depends on a number of factors. The first is the materials. If they are of high quality, that is, durable and wear-resistant, then the bar can be raised even higher.

The second nuance is the equipment used to produce parts and assemble engines. If we manage to achieve minimal, but at the same time ideal gaps, this will also increase the service life of power units.

And finally, the use of lighter alloys for the production of engine parts. After all, minimizing weight significantly reduces friction, inertia and, accordingly, wear.

It is also important to follow the running-in regime. After all, if you neglect it, you can lose part of the resource in the first 2 thousand kilometers of mileage.

And here is what Russian drivers think about this:

If they officially give a minimum resource of 220 thousand, then this is very good. As for me, Chinese competitors will drive a maximum of half of this. AVTOVAZ pleases.

And what, did you personally have one? car from China, you drove it 110 thousand kilometers and the engine died?

– user “Darkphoenix” joins the conversation

He didn't have anything. It's just common for us to criticize the Chinese auto industry. Personally, although I'm against it in general, I would rather choose a car from the Celestial Empire than a Lada. And the Chinese overtook AVTOVAZ in terms of technology 20 years ago.

– user “mizantropprawscha” decided to answer for the previous speaker

But I remember that before the French arrived, all the new VAZ engines, which were in fact reworked old stuff, did not even go up to 100 thousand kilometers. And even now they work noisily, scrape with pistons and "eat" oil without measure.

– said user “Vnutricherep”

I don't know, my grandfather had an old "Nine", and it still has the "original" engine and runs. No need to slander AVTOVAZ if you are not able to service the engine on time and with quality consumables.

– defends the domestic manufacturer user “arkan”

And I will tell you that the real resource of Lada Granta with an eight-valve engine is 150-200 thousand km. Repeatedly tested. On "Vestas" 16-valve engines and 250-300 thousand. So they try to keep new engines the same in terms of reliability.

– user “Kydch” ends the conversation.
Do you think VAZ engines are generally reliable?
