Russia enters new stage of infrastructure development for production of MS-21 and SJ-100

The representative office of the public joint-stock company Yakovlev shared fresh details regarding preparations for the commissioning of new Russian aircraftDuring the NAIS exhibition, the company's management reported on the steps taken to modernize the aviation infrastructure. At the same time, questions were raised about the activities aimed at the successful start of commercial operations of the SJ-100 and MC-21.

During the forum "Ensuring Airworthiness", the Deputy General Director for Work with Customers of "Yakovlev" spoke. He reported that the primary task of the enterprise is to create an optimal volume of warehouse reserves.

The discussion was about forming stocks of components and parts. They will allow for the shortest possible time to repair airliners directly at the places of operation.

In addition, an important step that will help localized aircraft "start up" is the expansion of regional linear maintenance stations. Today, such sites are already actively operating in the following locations:

✅ St. Petersburg
✅ Sheremetyevo
✅ Zhukovsky

This year, two additional LSTOs will be launched. One of them will be built in Vladivostok. The key feature of the station will be a pneumatic-frame hangar.

Initially, the sites are oriented towards working with the import-substituting Superjet. Later, they will be modernized, gradually including new aircraft models.

The Yakovlev management also pays attention to expanding the capabilities of the aviation technical complexes. They perform repairs of units and parts for SSJ-100 aircraft. In the previous reporting period, the volume of manipulations performed increased by 55% and reached 2589 operations.

The growth is due to the modernization and optimization of production. The involvement of Russian enterprises in the development and maintenance of imported components played a significant role. The approach allowed minimizing the influence of foreign suppliers and accelerating the process of equipment restoration.

Preparations for the serial launch of the MS-21 and SJ-100 also involve training flight crews. In addition to the existing training complexes in Sheremetyevo and Skolkovo, two more sites are expected to be launched in 2026.

In conclusion of the speech, the management of Yakovlev confirmed its readiness to cooperate with partners. The representative office assumes responsibility for promptly responding to requests from airliner operators related to technical support of aircraft.
