They want to expand the production of Il-76

On the development prospects of the domestic brand aircraft developments of the Ilyushin Design Bureau, within the framework of the thematic exhibition NAIS, was shared by the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, Mr. Alikhanov. Among other things, he said that currently there is a discussion about the feasibility of increasing the production volumes of the Russian transport aircraft Il-76.

The machine, according to him, has undergone a deep modernization and in terms of its main operational characteristics compares favorably with many foreign analogues. Another advantage is the cost, which is an order of magnitude lower than that of competitors.

According to A. A. Alikhanov, the Il-114 passenger airliner also has good prospects. This model meets all the main criteria for aviation Transport most friendly Asian countries, and has great potential in terms of export supplies.

The regional aircraft Il-7 equipped with a turboprop engine B117-01ST-114 will replace the outdated An-24 in our country's air fleets. The new aircraft are capable of flying a distance of 1400 km when fully loaded. Their passenger capacity is 68 people. All certification activities for this aircraft will reportedly be completed this year.

And here is what people from different cities of the country think about this:

There is an opinion on the matter - what prevented us from switching to our own manufacturer ten years ago? In my opinion, back in 2008 it was clear where everything was heading.

— Sergey Petrovich from Izhevsk shares his thoughts

Your (our) "newest" aircraft is already 35 years old, it is an aviation veteran. Maybe the design bureau has more recent solutions for mass serial production

— asks Eldar Mikhailovich from Chekhov

With such a key rate, it is unlikely that private buyers will be stimulated. This means that the entire volume of growth will most likely be exclusively government orders. Well, maybe with rare exceptions. Why not develop everything comprehensively? More buyers, more production, and more of everything. And with the growth of production, the cost price will decrease, and many times over.

— says Anatoly Petrovich from Chelyabinsk

It is very optimistic to compete with Airbus with an almost forty-year-old aircraft - I would first study the world market, trends. But, in principle, the direction is correct. The main thing is that it does not turn out as it usually does for us, and there is some sense. We will see.

— expresses his opinion Konstantin Abramovich from Anapa

Entering foreign markets when your own is saturated is a good idea. The only thing is, I wouldn't send it to China - they'll quickly copy it and start promoting their own. But it certainly wouldn't hurt to set up deliveries to Africa and South America. You never know, by that time the EU will want to update its fleet with our models. We'll live in style!

— Gennady Vladimirovich from Omsk sums up optimistically.
