The GAC GS4 crossover will officially appear in Russia – certification is complete

Dealers of the Chinese brand GAC have finally received all the necessary documents to start sales of the GS4 model in Russia. This is a mid-size crossover, distinguished by a sporty and even slightly aggressive design.


In our country car will be sold as GAC GS4. This alone indicates that the model has been modified specifically for Russia. After all, in China it is even sold under a different brand, and is called the Trumpchi GS4 Max crossover there.

The car is based on a chassis that debuted in 2022. But the GS4 model appeared in China earlier. It went on sale back in 2015, so the current crossover is at least the second generation.


This is if we focus on the usual generations, like other manufacturers. But China has its own rules - there a car on one "cart" can "survive" up to five updates. And all of them will be called not restylings, but a change of generations.

Only in Russia will the GAC GS4 be the only representative of the line. In China, there is an extended version, Max is also a separate model. There was also a coupe-like crossover, but now it has been removed from the conveyor.

The chassis of the "Russian" GAC GS4 is not new - it is borrowed from the Trumpchi Emkoo 2022 model year. Externally, the crossovers are similar, but the GS4 looks more modern due to the new optics, bumpers and radiator grille.

The dimensions of the GAC GS4 are 4,68 x 1,69 x 1,9 meters. These are the length, height, and width, respectively. The car is 5 mm larger than the original Trumpchi Emkoo, but this is only due to the new bumpers. The wheelbases of the cars are the same.

The GAC GS4 has an impressive 638 liters of trunk space. The model will only be offered in a two-row version. If you fold the rear seat, the trunk space will increase to 1 liters.


It is not yet known what engine the "Russian" GAC GS4 will have. Most likely, under the hood of the crossover will be a turbocharged 177-liter power unit, like in China. In the version for the Celestial Empire, its power is 149 hp. It is possible that the engine will be derated to XNUMX "horses".

The GAC GS4 will most likely have a seven-speed robotic gearbox. At least in China, this is the only one available with a 1,5-liter engine.

As for the prices for GAC GS4 in Russia, they have not yet been announced. But, if we focus on the "younger" model GS3, then we can assume that the new crossover will cost about 3 million rubles.
