"All inclusive" - a universal bicycle handlebar weighing 80 grams with a built-in electronic instrument panel is presented
In modern automobile transport all control elements have long been built into the dashboard. And the creator of the presented new product seriously thought - why not integrate this idea into bike, namely, in its steering wheel.
This is what gave birth to the unique Flitedeck carbon steering wheel, which has a built-in touch screen, headlight, wireless access and other options.

The new product is currently available for pre-order in the Drop-style version. The version, produced by the Munich startup Flite, is designed for road, gravel and touring bikes. The founders of the company are auto mechanics engineers Sabrina Fischer and Matthias Huber. The latter, by the way, previously worked for such auto giants as Porsche, BMW and Pininfarina.
Fisher says he got the idea for the Flitedeck a few years ago when he got his first high-end road bike. He was happy with the aerodynamics of the handlebars, but wasn't thrilled with the need to mount lights, navigation devices, a horn, and other bulky mounts. So he set out to fix that.
After years of work, he created an ultra-light carbon fiber steering wheel, which he equipped with a dual-beam headlight, alarm, motion sensor, electronic horn, GPS navigator and a 180 x 70 mm color touchscreen.
The Flitedeck is available in 24 different stem width and stem length combinations. Photo: lite.bike
Flitedeck is compatible with virtually any device, including all modern electronic sensors (on the same transmission). Connection is via Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and special mobile applications.
The user can customize the display at his own discretion. If necessary, the monitor can display many small screens or one larger one at the same time, which is very convenient for viewing a step-by-step route, for example.
The Flitedeck mount is universal – it fits any bike. Photo: lite.bike
Flitedeck is powered by a built-in lithium battery, which guarantees 20-30 hours of operation on a single charge.
The total weight of the steering wheel is said to be only about 80 grams. The new product is also marked with an IP68 waterproof rating, which means it can be submerged to a depth of 1 meter for half an hour.
There are a couple of small "flies in the ointment" in this beautiful story. The first is that the flat profile of the Flitedeck steering wheel may be poorly, or completely incompatible with traditional gadgets installed on the steering wheel. For example, such as action cameras. And the second is the price.

At the moment, the manufacturer offers special conditions for pre-ordering the new product, which will now cost a potential buyer $1677 (about 166 rubles). But this batch, as reported, will be limited to 000 copies, the first deliveries will start next year. But the prices for the new batch will be higher.
A testament to the high quality and performance of Flitedeck is the fact that one of the leading premium bike manufacturers, which equips the UCI WorldTour team, will be installing this handlebar on its production bikes.
