The third stage of construction of the Lena Bridge has been approved

The project of the strategic bridge across the Lena River near Yakutsk continues to move towards implementation. The Main State Expertise of Russia has given a positive conclusion on the implementation of the third stage of construction of the bridge structure. By this, it confirmed the compliance of the design solutions with the established regulations and safety standards.


The total length of the section to be completed in the third stage of construction is 4049,25 meters. The road will include a two-lane roadway designed for traffic cars with a maximum permitted speed of up to 120 km/h.

The construction of interchanges and access roads connecting the bridge infrastructure with city and regional highways is planned. In particular, new access roads to Lesnaya, Molodezhnaya and other streets will appear in Yakutsk, with a total length of 788,22 meters.


Key elements of the third stage include the construction of a bridge structure across the Khatynnakh River. In addition, there are plans to install special screens that will absorb noise from cars crossing the bridge.

The Lena Bridge will become an important link in the transport infrastructure, as it will connect the settlements of Staraya Tabaga and Khaptagay in the Megino-Kangalassky District.

The new bridge will connect three federal highways and five regional roads. As a result, round-the-clock communication will be possible between such important infrastructure facilities as the river port, airport and railway mainline in Yakutsk.

The project is expected to become a catalyst for economic growth, reduce transportation costs and increase the investment attractiveness of the region.

The economic effect from the construction of the facility is estimated at an additional 13,4 billion rubles in tax revenues to the federal budget each year, and in the future, with the development of new deposits, up to 18,5 billion rubles annually.

Construction of the Lena Bridge began in October 2024, and its completion will be a major milestone in the development of transport infrastructure in Eastern Siberia.


The project is aimed not only at improving the transport accessibility of Yakutia, but also at forming the Northern Latitudinal Economic Belt of Russia, providing access to the eastern sea ports of the country.
