CCa5712LS project crab boats launched in Nakhodka
The Nakhodka Ship Repair Plant successfully completed the construction of a CCa5712LS type crab catcher, named "Dmitry Konoplev". The customer of the vessel was TRK LLC, and the project was handled by Damen Engineering.
Completion of construction was confirmed by the official issuance of a set of documents by the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RMRS) on February 3, 2025. This vessel became the second in a series of eight units that are planned to be delivered in the coming years.
The crab catcher "Dmitry Konoplev" was designed for efficient catching using traps, as well as for preserving and transporting the catch alive.

The ship is equipped with overboard water tanks, which allow optimal conditions for the crab to be maintained for a long time during transportation.
One of the main features of the vessel was the possibility of operation in the Russian Far East, which is especially important for fishing in the basins of the Okhotsk and Bering Seas.
The CCa5712LS project, on the basis of which the crab boat "Dmitry Konoplev" was built, provides for high requirements for safety, environmental friendliness and maneuverability. The vessel has a length of 57,66 meters, a width of 12,6 meters and a draft of up to 5 meters.
The deadweight is 1226 tons. This guarantees a large cargo capacity with a minimum draft. This again expands the range of conditions in which the ship can operate.
The vessel is equipped with a powerful engine that develops 2202 horsepower and allows the ship to accelerate to a maximum speed of 12,6 knots or 23 km/h.
Interestingly, the crab fisher can operate even in weak ice conditions. This is especially important for fishing in northern waters, where ice conditions are often encountered.

The CCa5712LS project already has a successful experience with the first vessel of this series, which is known as "Captain Khazan". It was launched not so long ago - in June 2024.
The construction of the Dmitry Konoplev also proceeded according to schedule, and both vessels became important elements of the Pacific Fishing Company fleet modernization program.
As part of this program, Nakhodka Shipyard is to complete the construction of six more vessels, which will also operate in the Far Eastern fishing industry.
