Xiaomi YU7 is already better than Tesla Model Y, and here's how

The Xiaomi YU7 electric crossover, expected to be released in mid-2025, has shown its impressive performance in terms of range and more. The main competitor of the Tesla Model Y can travel up to 760 km on a single charge within the CLTC cycle. And these are not all the advantages.


By comparison, Tesla's latest Model Y, with a 78,4 kWh battery and dual-motor powertrain, travels 719 miles (XNUMX km) on a single charge under the same CLTC.

Such a large power reserve of the Xiaomi YU7 crossover is achieved thanks to lithium batteries. Their capacity has not been officially announced, but there is reason to believe that it is about 101 kWh. Batteries with a similar parameter are already used in the SU7 electric sedan.


We should also note the low energy consumption of the new product. For the version with a range of 760 km, this is 14,8 kWh per 100 km. For comparison, the Tesla Model Y in a similar configuration requires 15,4 kWh per 100 km.

The all-wheel drive Xiaomi YU7 is equipped with two electric motors with a total power of 691 hp. In this configuration, the crossover accelerates to a maximum of 253 km/h, and this is significantly higher in comparison with many competitors, where there are strict speed limits.

The dimensions of the Xiaomi YU7 also confirm its belonging to the premium segment. Its length is 4999 mm, width 1996 mm, and height 1600 mm. The wheelbase of 3000 mm clearly hints at the spaciousness of the cabin for passengers in the second row.

Xiaomi's smart pricing policy is an equally important aspect that has already played a role in the popularity of the YU7 model. The starting price of the crossover is $35000 or about 3,49 million rubles at the current exchange rate.

This price tag can be called a competitive offer in comparison with the Tesla Model Y, which costs $42500 or 4,23 million rubles for a configuration similar to the YU7.


Sales of the model are expected to begin in the summer of 2025, with the first batches being sent to China, where demand for electric vehicles is growing. cars grows every year. In Europe and other countries, Xiaomi YU7 may be available later.

The electric crossover will be offered in several trim levels, including rear-wheel drive versions. It will receive one electric motor with a capacity of 315 hp and a maximum speed limit of 240 km/h. The power reserve of this version will probably be at the level of 700 km.
