Robotic dump trucks have started operating in Khakassia

At the Izykhsky open-pit coal mine, which is located in the Republic of Khakassia, robotic dump trucks of the BELAZ 7513R model were introduced.

Special equipment with a maximum lifting capacity of 130 tons helped increase shift productivity by 20% compared to using drivers.

The autonomous control system developed by GC "Tsifra" performs the entire transport cycle without human participation. The tasks include routing, control over the movement zone, dynamic updating of loading and unloading points, processing of oncoming traffic and formation of a queue for loading.

The new technology reduces the need for labor. From now on, drivers are subject to retraining, after which they turn from workers into operators. The latter monitor the operation of special equipment from a special control center.

One operator can monitor several dump trucks at once, which increases overall labor productivity by 3-5 times.

The implemented system also includes counteraction to rutting. Due to this, it is planned to reduce the costs of road maintenance, since the need for it, according to calculations, will appear 2-3 times less often.

The automated mining production system guarantees a high level of safety, allowing the economic transport and special equipment to work on the site of the robotic complex without stopping its operation.

The head of the state corporation "Tsifra" noted that the successful implementation of the project at the Izykh open pit could become a catalyst for large-scale robotization of quarries in Russia.

He emphasized that autonomous technologies are necessary not only for the development of domestic solutions, but also to compensate for the shortage of qualified personnel. The latter is especially acute in Eastern Siberia and the Far East.

Over 70% of mining companies in Russia have noted personnel shortages as a key development problem in the last two years. In such conditions, robotic dump trucks are becoming a logical alternative, as they allow maintaining high production rates.

In addition, autonomous technologies eliminate human involvement in hazardous production processes, which is in line with the strategy of improving safety in the industry.
