
Polaris Celebrates Anniversary with New Slingshot
The three-wheeled roadster Slingshot turns 10 this year. To mark the occasion, the manufacturer has prepared a restyled version of the model. In addition to the visual changes, car also received technical improvements.
The front of the Slingshot has a "fresh" radiator grille with an air intake and a different shape of the side "wings". The innovation is designed not only to change the appearance of the roadster, but also increases ground clearance due to its shape.
On the other hand, the statement looks more like a marketing ploy. The clearance has "grown" by only 25 mm, which in practice is difficult to call a truly noticeable difference.

The Slingshot trim levels have also been “rearranged”. The base configuration with the S index has received a textured finish, the SL version boasts graphic elements on the front panel, and the SLR has additional LED accents.
The flagship R modification stands out the most. It received a combined color scheme, a splitter and a ventilated hood.
The interior changes are minimal. The two top trim levels now feature the proprietary Rockford Fosgate Stage 2 Max audio system with larger speakers.

Starting with the SL version, a 7-inch multimedia system display appears in the cabin. For connoisseurs of "nuances and details", Polaris designers have prepared a new ignition key and a modernized gas tank cap.
There are noticeably more changes in the technical part. The engineers of the manufacturing company have reconfigured the two-liter ProStar engine.
The base versions produce 180, and the top ones – 204 “horses” with a peak torque of 175 and 203 N*m, respectively. For a weight of just under 800 kg, the figure can be considered “solid”.
The dynamic characteristics remained virtually unchanged:
✅ acceleration to 100 km/h – 4,5 sec
✅ maximum speed - 210 km / h
The power plant is paired with a five-speed manual gearbox. For an additional fee, the three-wheeled roadster can be equipped with an AutoDrive automatic transmission, which has received updated shifting algorithms.

Along with all the above improvements, the price of the Slingshot has also changed. The price tag for the basic configuration starts at 25 thousand, instead of 22 thousand dollars (2,4 and 2,1 million rubles, respectively).
On the other hand, even the base version now includes the entry-level Rockford Fosgate audio system, rear compartment locks and a windshield. Sales of the anniversary Slingshot are scheduled to begin in March this year.
In our country, the model is not popular due to its narrow scope of application. However, some dealers have the previous generation at a "winter" price of 3,8 million rubles.
