Now Sollers pickups are produced in Russia using full-cycle technology

The production line, located at the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant, has begun producing ST6 and ST8 models in a full cycle format. The first examples of pickups rolled off the assembly line in the presence of the head of the region and the company's CEO.

To reach this level of production, the site underwent a large-scale modernization. The most significant innovation was the appearance of an additional line for welding components.

The ST6 and ST8 pickup bodies are manufactured in parallel with the main UAZ vehicles. Assembly, in turn, is carried out in a new workshop equipped for these models.

In addition to technical equipment, the software component of the complex was improved at Sollers facilities. Modern IT systems are integrated into production processes. They are responsible for quality control, monitoring of assembly stages, and also help manage the enterprise's logistics.

Pickups are equipped with domestic engines. The ST6 model offers a choice of turbocharged petrol and diesel power plants. In both cases, the working volume is 2 liters.

The engines produce 176 and 136 hp respectively. Their production is set up at the site in Yelabuga. They are paired with a six-speed manual transmission. The plant in Zavolzhye is responsible for its production.

The flagship ST8 is presented in an additional configuration. It received a 2,4-liter engine. The peak power of this unit reaches 204 hp.

According to the Governor of the Ulyanovsk Region, the transition to a "full cycle" will have a positive impact on the region's economy. Over the past reporting period, the industrial production index was 114%, which allowed the region to take first place in the Volga Federal District and fifth in all of Russia.

The CEO of Sollers also commented on this event:

UAZ has a high level of expertise in creating frame vehicles of various configurations. Their production sites are perfect for producing our pickups in a full-cycle format. The launch of the lines has allowed us to strengthen partnerships between brands and speed up the release of long-awaited new products. I would like to separately emphasize the growing level of localization of products. Our plans include continuing to develop the utility segment carsBy the way, this line will soon be expanded with another car.

Let us recall that the ST6 model has been on the Russian market for over a year. It is manufactured using the unit assembly method. During this time, about 3500 units have been sold. New products manufactured using the full-cycle method will become available for sale in the coming months.
