Skoda Octavia RS: 2024 model and tuning from Milotec

The sporty derivative of Skoda's best-selling model in history has not yet received a diesel or plug-in hybrid version after modernization. Although the basic Octavia already has such configurations. On the contrary, the latest RS from last year went on sale with a very simple configuration.

This is an affordable variant, which has one engine and has abandoned the manual transmission in favor of a standard automatic. An excellent set of functions has led to the modification traditionally taking the position of the most expensive variant of Octavia. Now the manufacturer offers:

✅ increased power
✅ higher speed
✅ rich standard equipment

All this required additional expenses already at the design stage. Therefore, in order to reduce the overall costs of development and production, the company had to take unpopular measures. They deprived future customers of interesting alternatives in terms of choosing the nature and working volume of the installed power units.

After all, just a few years ago, a car of this type of the fourth generation was offered with three types of engines to choose from. After the 2024 upgrade, one uncontested option remained, the characteristics of which we will tell you about below.

A new product with its advantages and limitations

The option of having a 2.0 TDI diesel with 108 hp under the hood (today it has only 104,5 “horses” due to emission restrictions) and a plug-in 132-hp hybrid are now a thing of the past. The latter with external charging has completely dropped out of the production cycle. It is only available in the previous Skoda Kodiaq and Superb types.

The upgraded 2024 Skoda Octavia RS is offered in station wagon and liftback bodies. It is optionally equipped with a DSG gearbox, which will require an additional payment of more than 200 thousand rubles.

But even in the standard version car The Skoda Octavia RS will offer a wide range of equipment (except for the alternative powertrain, of course). This list should include:

✅ 18-inch Comet wheels, painted black
✅ LED headlights Matrix
✅ dual-zone air conditioning
✅ 13-inch infotainment system with navigation

There are also other nice touches, such as heated front sports seats, a leather-trimmed sports steering wheel with the same function, and keyless entry. The new model is also equipped with an entry and start system, a Canton audio set, or a package of assistants.

The latter includes predictive cruise control, adaptive lane vision, blind spot monitoring and driver fatigue detection. The extensive set is completed by parking sensors located both at the rear and at the front of the car.

For an extra charge, an extended palette of body colors (approx. 140 thousand rubles), 19-inch wheels (up to 70 rubles) and the RS Lounge package with partial leather upholstery are possible. Massage seats in the front with electrical adjustment and memory will cost more than 000 thousand rubles, and the Assisted Driving 225 package with a projection display and automatic parking - a hundred thousand.

The premium Klima package is also available. It will offer heated rear seats, front window and, among other things, three-zone air conditioning. And the non-alternative engine is worth dwelling on in more detail.

Turbocharged petrol engine

Yes, the updated version of the Skoda Octavia RS of the previous model year is equipped with a 2.0 TSI turbocharged petrol engine. Its power characteristics, compared to the previous version, have grown significantly. But in general, everything looks something like this:

✅ 4 cylinders
✅ 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission as standard
✅ working volume - 1984 cubic meters. cm
✅ power – 143,5 (compared to the previous 132) hp at 5250-6500 rpm

Let us note once again that the return of the "mechanics" is not considered by the manufacturer at all. As well as the possibility of the arrival of a version with all-wheel drive. But with the upgraded engine, the car has improved its performance in a straight line. By the way, the characteristics of the liftback have a number of differences from the station wagon (in brackets):

✅ net weight – 1,52/1,63 (1,534/1,68) tons
✅ fuel consumption – 6,7/7,1 (6,8/7,2) l/100 km
✅ acceleration to 100 km/h – in 6,4 (6,5) seconds

The upgraded car from the Czech brand uses the same technology as the recently released Volkswagen Golf GTI. The RS base also features a 15 mm lower sports chassis, progressive power steering and a VAQ differential with an electronically controlled clutch.

The latter ensures the distribution of torque between the front drive wheels. The improved Skoda Octavia RS is capable of accelerating to 250 km/h. But the tuned version of the previous version of the car looks no less interesting.

Vision of German tuning company Milotec

A slightly forgotten German tuner of Czech models returns to the spotlight with a new show car. It is based on the pre-facelift fourth-generation Octavia RS. Previously, this company was a popular manufacturer of car accessories, finding countless customers both in its home country and in the Czech Republic.

Gradually, interest in alterations noticeably faded. And Milotec since 2020 has been in the hands of new owners, who have put the revival of former glory at the forefront. And one of the most striking new products was the Skoda Octavia RS in orange.

In addition to demonstrating its latest achievements and developments, the German tuning company reminded that it is still too early to send the fourth-generation Octavia RS to the scrap heap. After all, the unrivaled Milotec show car with new improvements has even more power than the current evolution of the bestseller from Mladá Boleslav, which is described in this article.

The modified version of the car from Milotec was shown on the website of the German magazine Auto Bild. It attracted attention not only with its bright color, but also with a prototype of aerodynamic 20-inch TEC wheels. It also boasts a light tuning body kit with a contrasting black bumper and sill extensions.

Increased price of the car

It is worth noting that the developers' trick of adding a special "magic box" to the electronics led to an increase in engine power by 30 points at once. Which, by the way, is even higher than that of the restyled Skoda Octavia RS 2024. By the way, the manufacturer is still keeping secret what device it used to improve the original characteristics quite well. Here's what Milotec ultimately offered:

✅ power – up to 275 hp (202 kW)
✅ ST Suspensions sports chassis
✅ acceleration to 200 km/h is two seconds faster than the original

The first components from Milotec's offer for the current fourth generation of the car can already be found on the company's official website. It is noted there that the modified version handles much better than the factory model. And it also has a more captivating rear end, similar to the current Volkswagen Golf GTI.

This is a comprehensive review of the new product from the Czech company and the tuning version of the fourth generation. It remains only to add the pricing policy regarding the restyled Skoda Octavia RS. Prices for the liftback start from 4,25 million rubles. The station wagon version will cost a little more - 4,4 million rubles. The prices are indicated for the European market, parallel import to Russia will be more expensive.
